1. The act or art of embroidering.

2. Ornamentation of fabric with needlework.

Embroidery is the art or handicraft of decorating fabric or other materials with needle and thread or yarn. Embroidery may also incorporate other materials such as metal strips, pearls, beads, quills, and sequins. Embroidery is most often recommended for caps, hats, coats, blankets, dress shirts, denim, stockings and golf shirts. Embroidery is available with a wide variety of thread or yarn color.

3-D Puff

-------------------------------------------

3-D Puff Embroidery adds extra depth and dimension to your custom embroidered apparel. A 3D effect is achieved by placing a layer of foam under the area where the design will be embroidered. Once the foam is in place, the design is stitched over with your thread color of choice. Applying this style of puff embroidery requires an extra layer of thread so the foam beneath the design will not show through. It looks best when used on designs with rounded corners and fonts with large block letters, allowing the foam to be covered completely by the stitches.

Twill/Applique

-------------------------------------------

Tackle Twill refers to twill or felt letters sewn down with either a zig-zag stitch, running stitch, or a solid satin column. Using the solid satin column around the letters will achieve another color for your design. Applique is using a piece of material in place of stitches to achieve a different color or texture. This technique is great to use as coverage for larger designs, as it helps reduce the number of stitches while maintaining the overall concept of the design.
